Captain Samuel Porter began his EMS career in January 2012 by serving on the Texas A&M University Care Team as he completed his EMT-Basic and Paramedic certifications at Blinn College. He joined Robertson County EMS in July 2014 and progressed through roles as EMT-Basic, Paramedic, Field Training Officer, and Lieutenant before being promoted to C-Shift Captain in June 2018, a position he held through March 2023.

To further advance his clinical expertise and leadership skills, Captain Porter spent over a year in flight medicine with Air Evac Lifeteam, gaining extensive experience in high-acuity critical care, autonomous clinical decision-making, and team-based operations in dynamic environments. He returned to Robertson County EMS in August 2024 as A-Shift Captain, bringing with him an expanded critical care perspective and a strong emphasis on clinical excellence, crew development, and operational readiness that directly enhances patient care and leadership within RCEMS.

Outside of work, Captain Porter values time with his family and enjoys managing his ranch, fishing, and serving on the medical committee at his church. He is also a BLS Instructor, committed to education and the continued professional growth of EMS providers. 

Captain Porter is passionate about servant leadership, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and professional growth. He takes pride in supporting his crews and ensuring they are equipped to provide the highest level of care to the Robertson County community.
